Making Your Wedding Dream Come True Through Clayton Photography
Type of Wedding Photography
TRADITIONAL or CLASSICWEDDING PHOTOGRAPHYincludes portraits of the bridal party and their family members--close-up and full length--and candid photographs that pictorially portray the unique story of the momentous event. This is the most popular style.
WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALISM is a "what you see is what you shoot" style of photography with no posed group or couples. The photographer is "out of the picture" while capturing others in the picture. He or she does not arrange the shots and is scarcely a presence at the wedding.
ILLUSTRATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY The photographer meticulously arranges the scene to create pictures with great impact. This is the style used in high-fashion photography where even the candid shots are the result of careful posing and lighting.
IMPRESSIONISTIC PHOTOGRAPHY creates images resulting in unusual angles and placements. The photographer is like a script writer creating his or her artistic impressions of the events. The goal is to create distinctive style pictures for the album.
Most photographers include elements of each of these style, so there really is no one style to the exclusion of others.
I prefer to take most of the pictures before the wedding starts so that when it does it is more sacred wedding and not a photo shoot. Except for a few of the traditional activities captured during the reception, most of my pictures at the reception are candid shots.
